The Swimsuit:
The Lexxi swimsuit is the only thing that’ll be bluer than the sea and hotter than the sun – essential statistics when hitting the boat party.

The Soundtrack:
Get your party started by listening to the new Krankbrother: Recollective album – from disco to house, it’s got enough beats to last til dawn.

The Accessories:
I always pack a pair of Candice shoes to dance in, and a huge pair of saucer shades to hide my eyes at El Chiringuito beach club the next day.

The Icon:
Who else but Kate Moss?

The Swimsuit:
The Cee-Cee gives just about enough coverage for a light-hearted game of beach volleyball.

The Soundtrack:
I’m partial to a bit of African Soul when the sun begins to set – Super Mama Djombo are my favourite recent discovery.

The Accessories:
Nothing more than a pair of Solillas sandals, and a pair of COOPS earrings to add a hint of glimmer.

The Drink:
A long and potent Mai Tai

The Swimsuit: Get your bling on in the Tricja – the gold chains will catch the sunlight meaning you’ll never escape the attention of the cocktail waiter.

The Soundtrack:
Frank Ocean’s silky sexy voice will get you in the mooooood.

The Accessories:
A pair of Cazals from the 1970’s have just the right amount of glitz and you’re guaranteed no one else will have them.

I like the passion fruit caipirinhas served poolside at the rooftop pool in the Rio de Janeiro’s Fasano Hotel (the view ain’t bad either).

At this time of year the glossy magazines are packed with sun-soaked editorials dedicated to telling you how to get ‘holiday ready’. Two months to go: ditch the carbs. One month to go: hit the green juice. Two weeks to go: exfoliate like your life depends on it. One week to go: pedicure, manicure, spray tan, Botox, implants, etcetera.

Personally I prefer to count UP to my holiday. Here’s how…

Miss AP’s Little Pink Book – Rio

Miss AP's Little Pink Book Rio

To quote Gisele Bundchen, Brazilian bombshell and therefore a verified authority on Rio de Janeiro, visiting Rio is like plugging yourself into a socket, so shocking and powerful is the energy that runs through you. She’s right: Rio is electrifying. From sunset caipirinhas on Ipanema beach to all-night (and all-day) parties in the favelas, and from the dizzying heights of Christ the Redeemer to the murky depths of edgy neighbourhoods like Lapa, it’s a sensory blast that’ll leave you tingling from head to toe and right back up again to where it matters.
